Prepare for future inspections – and stay one step ahead
Between 2026 and 2029, the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Environmental Inspectorate and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency will launch a comprehensive national inspection program for tattoos, piercings and certain cosmetic procedures such as microblading. At the same time, new general guidelines will be introduced that will affect how businesses are inspected – in a more detailed way than many in the industry have previously experienced.
The inspections will focus on:
- Hygiene skills
- Self-inspection and documentation
- The design of the premises
- Work routines and work furniture
- Course certificates and certificates of competence
In parallel, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority is starting a special inspection program for laser treatments – an area where the requirements for knowledge and documentation are increasing sharply.
In short: the requirements are getting stricter. Our training helps you be ready.
Courses that match the new requirements
Our training courses give you:
- Full review of the studio model
- In-depth hygiene knowledge
- Applicable laws and regulations
- Practical understanding of what inspectors will actually check
We have strengthened the course content based on the new inspection guidance, so that after the course you can feel confident when an inspection is carried out - regardless of whether you are a business manager, practitioner or apprentice.
New in-depth material on colors and materials
Since 2025, the course includes a specialized in-depth study of:
- Content and chemical composition of dyes
- Current color legislation
- Product and material knowledge
This is done in collaboration with Mattias Lundberg – Sweden's leading expert on colors and color legislation in the tattoo industry. Mattias participates as a lecturer in the digital course and is responsible for a central part of the course day.
Validated content for journeyman and master certificates
Our digital courses are conducted in collaboration with SRT and are adapted for those of you who are planning to take a journeyman or master's certificate.
Tattoo Education Scandinavia is the leading educational platform for hygienic procedures in the Nordic region. Our course material is unique and developed together with:
- Leading producers
- Professional suppliers
- Institutions and industry organizations
All with a common goal: safer interventions and higher industry standards.
Who is the course aimed at?
Operations Manager
As the operations manager, you have the ultimate responsibility for:
- Everyone in the business has the right level of knowledge
- Applicable regulations are followed.
- Documentation and self-control are correct
The level of knowledge differs greatly between countries. Even if a practitioner has education from abroad, the knowledge must be proven with Swedish course certificates during an inspection.
The course gives you the tools to:
- Ensuring the right skills in the team
- Understand your legal responsibilities
- Avoid costly inspections
Individual practitioner
As a practitioner, you are personally responsible for understanding:
- General advice
- Environmental Code
- Self-control
- Hygiene routines
During an inspection, you may be asked directly about these areas. After the course, you will have:
- Clear understanding of the regulations
- Correct documentation on site
- Concrete tools to improve safety in your studio
Many participants describe the course as making “complicated theory easy to understand” – and that it provides insight into how small behaviors can affect customer safety.
Apprentice or new to the industry
As someone new to the profession, the amount of information can feel overwhelming. Therefore, the course is designed to:
- Be easy to learn even without extensive experience
- Provide direct practical benefit
- Create secure basic knowledge
We recommend that new practitioners take the course several times during the first few years. The content is essential to your ability to work safely – and you also get access to extensive course material and the opportunity to ask questions in real time.
Summary
The course runs approximately between 09:00 and 17:00. Exact class times and other practical information will be sent out a few days before the course starts. The course is conducted online via YouTube via a private link that is only available to participants who have paid the course fee. During the broadcast, you have the opportunity to ask questions directly in the chat.
After completing the course, a short test is conducted to ensure that you have participated throughout the training. When the test is passed, a digital certificate of participation is sent out.
