My interest in tattoos started very early in my teens. I grew up in the punk and skateboarding scene where almost everyone was older than me and heavily tattooed. I knew quickly that I wanted to get heavily tattooed but I probably never thought I would start tattooing.
When I turned 18 I started tattooing very intensively. Periodically I had one appointment a week and always in the same studio. After about 1 year I managed to persuade the studio owner (Tommy Lompad) to give me a chance as his apprentice. It's over 15 years since then, now 2025, and we're still working together.
Today I do almost exclusively blackwork/geometry. I am very grateful that I mostly do large projects and that clients give me a lot of freedom when designing their tattoos.
I came across Ratio needles a few years ago and was immediately hooked. What I like about the needles is that you can always trust that the quality is the same and always top notch. The range of needles is so large that I don't need to buy from several different brands.
I use everything from tight 3RL to 49 Fat Mags. I love to mix very thick lines with extremely small lines to create depth in my tattoos. I like to do big black fields with 49 mag and meet it with a pattern done with a tight 3RL.
For me, contrast is very important in tattoos. The thickness of the needles you use greatly affects the design, and it is important to me that you have needles you can trust.
