My fascination with tattoos started early and I wanted to be a tattoo artist as early as middle school. I was always drawing and sketching. Sometime during high school I started airbrushing/pinstriping and it wasn't until I was 25 that I held a tattoo machine for the first time.

I had started getting tattooed by Marcus Körling a few years before that and studied everything he did and insisted every time I was with him that I should become his apprentice.

"If I ever have an apprentice, I promise it will be you, Christopher, but I won't."

With those words and a growing impatience, I started tattooing myself and started my own company in 2009, which became Niceguy Chris Tattoo.

At first I just wanted to do a traditional style but it then transitioned into some kind of neo style and later to magnum black & grey realism and now I have landed in some kind of whip shading with RL needles in black & grey neorealism.

I was loyal to my coil machines for a long time, but a few years ago I bought a Wand. It was when I started using cartridges that I fell for Ratio. I found that the needle manufacturers I had used before when using coils didn't work at all in the cartridge format.

The very foundation of my work is 3-Round Liners 0.30mm and Ratios 3-liners are exactly as blunt, tight and precise as I strive to achieve a clear whip texture.
The precision and consistent quality of the Ratio needles spans all configurations and I also use 7-9 RL 0.35mm daily for outlines and 7-11 0.35mm Soft Edge Magnum to pack and make shading smoother where needed.
